How It Works
Microcement is a mineral coating applied by hand in thin layers that bond to almost any sound surface: tile, concrete, screed, and drywall. The system we use is Wall2Floor, made in Italy by Novacolor, and it is rated for foot traffic and wet rooms as well as walls. The build-up stays thin enough that floor heights barely change, so thresholds and door clearances usually stay as they are.
Run one surface across the floor, up a backsplash, and onto an island. Fewer joints mean fewer places for grease and crumbs to collect.
A waterproof epoxy topcoat handles showers, tub surrounds, and wet floors. No grout to scrub, no silicone lines going grey after two winters.
High-traffic routes take the finish well and read as one piece from landing to landing. Treads, risers, and adjoining walls all match exactly.

Yes, as long as the tile is sound and well bonded. We check for hollow spots, fix what moves, then prime and level before the finish coats. This is the main reason a bathroom can be redone without a dumpster in the driveway.
The waterproof topcoat is a two-part epoxy built for wet rooms and spas. Underneath it we install a waterproofing membrane and tape every corner and junction. Together they handle standing water and daily use.
Cracks come from movement in the substrate, not the finish itself. We reinforce with alkali-resistant fibreglass mesh where the system calls for it and respect existing movement joints. Done that way, hairline cracking is rare.
Most rooms are finished inside a week, from prep through to the final sealer. Light foot traffic usually starts the day after the last coat goes down. Wet areas need the full cure before the shower gets used.
